2011 Special Needs Hunt
The hunt took place the first weekend of November at the Horseshoe Lake Conservation Area and was run by Site Manager Joey Thurston. Special Thanks to the United Special Sportsman Alliance (USSA). This organization provides cost free outdoor dreams for ciritically ill and disabled American Youth. The link to their website is http://www.childswish.com.
During the hunt, the kids are accompanied by a parent or guardian, as well as a guide.
The guides are local residents who donate their time to help out. The youngsters that were in this years hunt include Cody Taylor (14yrs) from Greenville SC, Keifer Collins (16yrs) from Birmingham AL, Lilly Pecham (12) from Rapids WI, Wesley Johnson (24) from Sponcer WI, and Justin Yardly (18) from Oswego KS. Special thanks goes out to John Adams from NATGEAR for assisting the JDR in outfitting the hunters with Gloves, Jackets, and a coat to a parent.
